Stephanie Porter, MSN, RN has been ICI's Director of Clinical Services since 1994 and has been working at Children's Hospital since 1986. She coordinates ICI staff participation in clinical services, serves in a management capacity on numerous CH committees and represents ICI throughout the hospital. Stephanie provides consultation to the greater Boston and northeast regions of Massachusetts through the MASSTART program, funded through the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, working with school nurses and school staff assisting children with special health care needs to attend their community schools. Stephanie also coordinates the Community Education Initiative at Children's Hospital, providing learning opportunities for community providers; coordinates Linking Hands, a medical residency-training program to raise awareness of MDs regarding the lives of children and families with special care needs; and runs SibShops for brothers and sisters of children with special health care needs and disabilities.

She has published a number of articles and book chapters and is the lead author of Children and Youth Assisted by Medical Technology in Educational Settings: Guidelines for Care (2nd ed.). She has also authored two guides, one for families and the other for health care providers, entitled Transition Planning for Adolescents with Special Health Care Needs and Disabilities. In addition, Stephanie serves on the Massachusetts Consortium for Children with Special Health Care Needs.
